Or you may be a friend checking in to see what in the hell I might have to write and talk about that isn't already on my social media platforms.

Myself, Stevo, Momma, Bubs.

My name is Kara Patrice Shaver. Born and raised in the heart of Southeast Texas, between Houston and Louisiana, in a town called Beaumont Texas. I am twenty-six years old, I have a little brother, Bryce, who is twenty, who I adore with my whole heart. He is funny, kind, loves to swing a golf club and strum a guitar, he loves his family more than life, and is a catch for anyone that can real him in. He is also single! And ladies, if you want to get through to him, you have to come through big sis first! Steve and Paulette are my WONDERFUL parents who were (and still are) high school sweethearts. Seriously, they still flirt like they're seventeen. They raised me to be family oriented, to love and forgive everyone, to work hard, to be tactful, and to never lose sight of my dreams. My mom is my best friend, we fight like sisters but you best believe I'm calling her to tell her about some awesome new lotion I got. She is number ten of eleven kids, all from the same mom and dad. My mom is also a TWIN. Y'all, it's like having two moms, I swear. I call them "Twoms" (twin-moms). Okay maybe it's not that funny when I type it out. And I have about thirty-five cousins on her side. Crazy right? We're the epitome of Cajun. My dad is the middle child of three. So I come from a very L A R G E family, which has blessed me in many ways. Family has always been my number 1 priority. I will put my family first, before my friends, my job, my boyfriend, myself, anything. Boyfriend... Yes I have one of those also. We have been together for about three and a half years, we have two cats, we love to travel and cook together, and we're always trying to figure out our next move. Whether it is buying new furniture, traveling to a new place, making a business move, or trying a new restaurant. We're always switching things up, but also love a good Saturday night on the couch with Netflix and Chinese food. We are complete polar opposites but we just work. We let one another be authentically who we want to be. I'll go fishing with him, he comes to New York City with me. I go sit in a deer blind in twenty-nine degree weather with him, he comes to the galleria to shop with me. I go sit at the bar at Buffalo Wild Wings with him, he gets dressed up for me and takes me to Vic and Anthony's. We give and give, never give and take.

Also, I'm a hairstylist. SHOCKER, I know. If you follow me on social media or have met me in person this is a "no brainer". There might be some of you out there that have no clue who I am, so here it is. I have been in the hair industry for about six years, and my career journey has been nothing short of exciting. I've always been a "What's Next?" kind of girl. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I'm ready for the next. My career thus far is as follows: I've moved up in a commission based salon faster than anyone in the history of the company of thirty-two years. I've been licensed as a Master Color Expert with Wella Professional in NYC. I'm on a hair team for New York, Chicago, and Paris Fashion Week. I'm level 3 certified with Natural Beaded Rows Hair Extensions and Big Money Stylist, and was asked to be a trainer at the recent BMS Convention held in Huntington Beach, California. And that brings me to where I am now. Stay tuned for what's around the corner for KP Styling!
